As the following chart from Statista shows, 32% of smartphones sold in Europe in 2018 were made by Chinese manufacturers, up from just 11% in 2013.
Despite the building tensions between Chinese phone manufacturer Huawei and the US government, and despite the US warning its European allies that Huawei phones and equipment represent security threats, Huawei’s P20 Lite phone was the best selling phone in Germany in Q3 2018.
