J. Michael Cole, a senior fellow with the Global Taiwan Institute in Washington, D.C., the Macdonald-Laurier Institute in Canada, and the Taiwan Studies Programme at the University of Nottingham, recently spoke with The Epoch Times about the Chinese government’s efforts to exert control over the UN and the WHO and to use the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic to expand its ‘soft-power’ influence. He also discusses Taiwan’s early and unheeded warnings to the WHO about human-to-human transmissability and the fact that Taiwan has been excluded from the WHO due to Chinese pressure.
