The Epoch Times’ Jan Jekielek recently spoke with Benedict Rogers, founder of Hong Kong Watch and deputy chair of the UK Conservative Party Human Rights Commission (CPHRC), as part of The American Thought Leaders series. Throughout the interview, Mr. Benedict describes how China’s human rights violations are worsening, describing it as “the worst time for religious freedom since the Cultural Revolution,” with the CCP enslaving Uyghur Muslims and Buddhists in forced labor camps and demolishing churches. He also discusses the practice of forced organ harvesting, a euphemism for murdering political and religious prisoners to harvest their organs. Despite Chinese claims to have ended the practice in 2015 (implicitly acknowledging that it occurs), he cites “irrefutable” evidence that practice is ongoing and pushes for an international legal tribunal to determine if it amounts to the legal definition of genocide.
Meanwhile, virtual-signaling western businesses doing business in China continue to applaud a return to a more ‘cooperative’ approach to dealing with the CCP.

The CPHRC’s report on human rights abuses in China can be read here (PDF). While long, it’s worth a read.
