The following 3D scan shows Caerlaverock Castle in Scotland. First built in the 13th century for the Maxwell family, it features a triangular design and moat that is unique to Britain. The castle was besieged during the Wars of Scottish Independence and a garrison of just 60 men held out against the entire English army for several months before eventually surrendering. The ‘Nithsdale Lodging’ was built in the castle during the 1630s and represented “one of the finest examples of Renaissance architecture in Scotland.”
