The following map, from HowMuch, net, shows the manufacturing output of every major economy, based on 2018 data from the United National Statistical Division.
Not too surprisingly, China remains the world’s top manufacturing powerhouse with an annual output of roughly $4 trillion. That represents over a quarter of all global manufacturing output (28%). After China comes the US at $2.3 trillion or 17% of the world total, Japan with $1 trillion (7% of world total), Germany with $806 billion (6% of world total), and South Korea with $459 billion (3% of world total).
