China Unscripted recently sat down with Peter Humphrey, a UK citizen, former journalist, and private investigator, who spent two years in a Chinese prison on controversial charges, along with his wife. He tells the story of trumped up political charges, inhumane treatment, no due process, forced and faked confessions, and the refusal of medical treatment for prostate cancer.
His story is one to consider as the West wakes up to the realities of what has been, for far too long, a naively accomodative narrative on China. As China Unscripted notes, James Chau, a current goodwill ambassador to the WHO, was the man responsible for propagandizing Mr. Humphrey’s forced and edited ‘confession.’
