Portugal’s Finance Minister Mario Centeno spoke with CNBC today, the 18th of April 2016, on the subject of low interest rates. Stating that low interest rates pose “a big problem” to the banking sector’s profitability, he highlights the risks that sustained low interest rates pose to the already vulnerable financial sector in the very countries low interest rates are supposedly helping.
