The following article is reposted from Statista:
As this chart shows, the United States has so far pledged the most financial support to Ukraine: €71 billion in military, financial and humanitarian aid since the beginning of 2022. Data from the IFW Kiel Ukraine Support Tracker reveals that EU institutions have been the second largest donors (€30 billion), followed by the UK (€10 billion), Germany (€7 billion) and Japan ($6 billion).
When considering bilateral aid in terms of a percentage of GDP, several European countries come out ahead of the United States. Currently at the top are Latvia (1.2 percent), Estonia (1.1 percent) and Lithuania (0.9 percent) as the most generous donors. The U.S. ranks 21st, with aid committed to the tune of 0.4 percent of its GDP.
Taps Coogan: Notably absent from the list of Ukraine’s largest backers is France which has pledged less than two billion euros in aid to Ukraine. That France has largely declined to back up its Ukrainian flag waving with much actual military/financial support takes on additional significance as Macron returns from a trip to China in which he unambiguously portrays ‘dependency’ on the US as France’s big geopolitical concern, the US being a country with which France maintains a substantial trade surplus (unlike China) and which is footing the bill and providing the bulk of the equipment to advance European and French interests in Ukraine.

It reads more aggressive than I intend. I’ve removed the part about casualties. I have zero animosity towards France, quite the contrary. Spain has donated at a higher % of GDP than France. To your point, Italy should have been mentioned too as its down there near the bottom of the list (including refugee related costs) https://app.23degrees.io/view/c0trxasK3ET7wU98-bar-stacked-horizontal-figure-11_csv That being said, the Italian Prime Minister didn’t just return from a trip to China, a trip which ended with a large scale Chinese naval and aerial encirclement of Taiwan, and proclaim that dependence on the US was his/her big geopolitical concern.
