With the debate raging as to what constitutes the appropriate policy response to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, here is an infographic from Visual Capitalist which shows how many people die everyday from various maladies, including Coronavirus.
From December 31st through May 15th, Covid killed an estimated 2,205 people per day, putting its death toll somewhere between suicide and malaria. During it’s worst week (April 13th-April 19th), it killed 7,504 people per day, likely making it the fourth largest cause of death globally for that week.
The following chart shows how many people die each day from all causes in a selection of countries around the world.
