In a welcome sign of some sort of ‘normalcy,’ US restaurants have finally clawed their way back to pre-Covid levels, as the following chart from Statista reveals.

A lot of attention is going to be placed on whether or not spending on restaurants runs hot from here and makes up for some of the staggering losses last year. That question will be doubly important considering that consumer spending on goods, having spiked to ridiculous levels over the past year, is likely to have a hard landing this year.
