The following infographic, from Visual Capitalist, highlights the increasingly farcical ‘Terms of Service’ agreements that we are asked to accept before using popular apps and services like Microsoft Windows, Facebook, YouTube, Uber, etc…
As the graphic highlights, while most of agreements are longer than the US Constitution, the Microsoft ‘Terms of Service’ agreement, which covers nearly all Window’s products, is nearly as long as Shakespeare’s Macbeth and would take well over an hour to read.
All told, the average American would need to devote somewhere in the ball-park of 250 hours to read all of the ‘Terms of Service’ agreements associated with the online services that they use. It’s an awfully drawn-out way to convey the simple message that your apps can take whatever information they want from you and your devices and do whatever they want with it.

‘Second Life’ eula, last time I looked, was the size of a short novel.
