The following 3D scan, created by Historic Environment Scotland, is of the Edinburgh Castle in Edinburgh, Scotland.
The site of the castle has been inhabited since at least the 2nd century AD. A royal castle was built in the 12th century and it became a major feature in the Wars of Scottish Independence, repeatedly changing hands between the English and Scottish forces. The castle was involved in numerous other conflicts well into the 18th century, with researchers identifying at least 26 sieges of the castle. It has been deemed “the most besieged place in Great Britain and one of the most attacked in the world.”
It may take a moment to load the textures. The navigation mode can be changed in the settings.
