Highly respected geopolitical forecaster and founder of Stratfor, and more recently Geopolitical Futures, George Friedman, someone who’s analysis we have featured here at The Sounding Line several times, has just come out today with a stark prediction: a US attack on North Korea is imminent.
In the clearest terms yet, Mr. Friedman is predicting a high likelihood of conflict on the Korean Peninsula. Among several reasons for his prediction Mr. Friedman notes that civil defense briefings are now going on in Guam:
“If we are not going to war we are going a really good imitation… You’ve got a civilian population on Guam and remember Guam is part of the United States. We have a civilian population that has to be protected in the event of an attack… you are going to make sure that, to an extent, that they are ready, and when you start getting the civilian population ready you have sort of made your decision because that is going to panic a lot of people and there is no reason to panic them for no reason.”
