With a poverty rate of 53.9%, Oglala Lakota County, part of the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota, is the poorest county in the US. The second poorest county is East Carrol Parish, Louisiana. At the other end of the spectrum, Robert County, Texas has the lowest poverty rate of any county in the US at just 1.8%.
