The following interview is with author, essayist, and risk analyst Nassim Taleb. Taleb is known for several best selling books including: Fooled by Randomness, The Black Swan, and most recently Antifragile.

Mr. Taleb discusses a wide range of subjects but frequently comes back to this: the problem with today’s leaders is that they don’t have ‘skin in the game.’ In a too big to fail world awash in political and corporate bailouts, leaders (whether they be politicians, CEOs or Bankers) enjoy the rewards of leadership without participating in the downside risks of bad decision making. That keeps incompetent people in positions of power, weakening the overall system and breading resentment. This problem, combined with increasingly top down and centralized power structures has led to a crisis of intellectuals who actually don’t know anything and fragile systems of governance.
