According to data from a recent report from the Stockholm International Peace Institute (SIPRI), sales from the world’s 25 biggest arms manufactures rose by a brisk 8.5% in 2019.

61% of those sales came from American arms companies, which include the five largest arms companies in the world and 12 of the top 25 largest companies. China, now the number two country on the list, also saw brisk growth in weapons sales, claiming 16% of the total. The two Russian arms companies on the list saw sales fall and a third company, United Aircraft, fell out of the top 25 completely. It’s part of an accelerating trend of China muscling into traditionally Russian arms markets.

The following chart, from Statista.com, details the largest arms companies in the world.
