As part of our ongoing series of historical video-maps, we present: ‘The Rise and Fall of the French Empire,’ from YouTube creator Poivre. The French Empire begins around 1600 AD with the establishment of France’s first New World colonies: New Scotland (1604) and Quebec (1608). The zenith of France’s New World Empire is reached shortly before France’s 1713 defeat in the War of the Spanish Succession. Roughly 50 years later, following France’s defeat in the bloody Seven Years War, it is forced to give up nearly all of its colonies which have grown to include much of North America, the Caribbean and India. Under Napoleon, the French Empire briefly expands across most of continental Europe and central North America. Upon Napoleon’s defeat, most of these conquests are relinquished. The French Empire begins to expand once again in the mid-1800s, this time into Africa and South-East Asia and in 1920, shortly after its victory in World War I, the French Empire reaches its all time territorial maximum. France maintained the bulk of its territorial extent into the 1950s only to implode rapidly leading up to and during the Algerian War.

dont put small youtuber’s content without permission and credit
There is a credit in the first sentence with a link to the creators page. You don’t need permission to embed a YouTube video, nor is it common practice, nor would it make sense to not share a YouTube creators content. The creator gets the view and revenue when the video is played, not me. Youtube creators can disable sharing on their videos if they don’t want it shared. Obviously, I don’t share those. Otherwise, if a creator still wants me to remove a video that they permit sharing on, I will
